The emergency services have left in search of three boats in which migrants from Africa are sailing near Lanzarote and have so far located a boat and an inflatable boat, so they continue to search the area to rescue a third boat.
At approximately 18:21 island time, the first inflatable boat was intercepted, with a total of 50 people rescued, 48 men and two women, of Maghreb origin and two men of sub-Saharan origin. All occupants of the two boats have been transferred to Puerto Naos where they have been attended to by the Red Cross.
