The Dr. José Molina Orosa Hospital of Lanzarote hosted this Monday the presentation of the research works of the XXIII promotion of Interim Resident Doctors (MIR) of the center. During the event, which took place in the hospital's assembly hall, the MIRs who have completed their training process on the island "have presented their research to the MIR-4 Scientific Board", according to the Government of the Canary Islands.
In the ceremony, which coincided with World Family Medicine Day, the MIRs were attended by their tutors, teaching collaborators, family and friends. The presentation was directed and presented by the head of studies of the Teaching Unit of Family and Community Medicine, Victoria Gutiérrez, and was attended by the manager of the Health Services, Raúl Otín Llop, the medical director of the center, Carlos E. Court, the medical director of Primary Care, María del Carmen Mendoza, the director of Nursing of Specialized and Primary Care, Natalia Monzón, and Victoria Estévez, as well as the directors of the basic health areas of the island, among others.
The MIRs, who have completed their training according to the program of the Specialty of Family and Community Medicine, have presented their research works under the titles "Knowledge and use of contraceptive methods in women of childbearing age in the Health Area of Lanzarote", presented by Jaime Martín García; "Premorbid metabolic syndrome and thyroid dysfunctions in Primary Care", by Clara Vera Miyar and Yamirka González Menéndez; and "Application of the APEAS study in the Health Area of Lanzarote", by Samuel Naranjo Legaza and Elisa López Bencomo.
