The San Roque festival came to an end this Tuesday in Tinajo, and it did so with music. At 9:00 p.m., on the stage of the Social Hall of the town, the concert entitled 'Voces de Mujer' began. The first to take the stage were Jaqueline García, with her guitar, and the soloist Isabel Padrón. They chose for the occasion a selection of compositions such as 'Mararía' or 'La flor de la canela'.
Immediately afterwards, the large stage was filled with the presence of the 27 members of the Calicanto musical group, who for this concert had the collaboration of great music professionals such as David Luzardo, Toni Rodríguez, Acoran Ramos, Rayco Hernández and the solo voice of Fabiola Fernández, who showed off her magnificent vocal skills. Fabiola's powerful registers and harmonic nuances made the public applaud her two songs, entitled 'El mar y el cielo' and 'El último adiós'. For its part, Calicanto made an extensive tour of different genres, performing boleros, ballads, rancheras or tangos; and easily managing to maintain musical and vocal harmonization from the beginning to the end of the concert. With a very well-cared staging, rhythm and joy were present at all times during Calicanto's performance.
As a surprise, the singer Pedro Manuel Afonso made an appearance on stage, a great figure in traditional Canarian music and who cannot resist any musical genre, because his great vocal skills allow him to do so. Pedro Manuel was accompanied by two great musicians and best friends, Mel Reyes on guitar and Raico Hernández on timple. As a tribute to women, he performed two songs entitled 'Mujeres divinas' and 'Canto a la madre', with which he put an end to a day with which the festivities in honor of San Roque were bid farewell.
