The Tinajo Institute wins the III School Debate organized by the Center for Teachers

The Tinajo secondary education institute has become this Thursday the winner of the III School Debate; a rhetoric contest for high school students on the island organized by the Center for Teachers (CEP) and held in the plenary hall of the Arrecife City Council. The winning team, which has prevailed over the representatives of the César Manrique, Playa Honda and Puerto del Carmen institutes, will travel to Tenerife to attend a parliamentary session.

Councilor Carmen Delgado Sepúlveda, and the advisors of the CEP, Carmen Gloria Morales Umpiérrez and Miguel Iván Bellido Hurtado, have been in charge of assessing the dialectical confrontation, which has revolved around three argumentative axes: the use of animals in circuses and zoos, video games and influence and surrogate wombs.

The mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, and the first deputy mayor, Rafael Juan González, have welcomed the participating students and have applauded the initiative that celebrates its third and last edition this year.

The contest has had the sponsorship of the Parliament of the Canary Islands and the collaboration of the Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, which coordinates Ascensión Toledo Hernández.
