The Letras para el Alma Reading Club and the Literary Thursdays group have met again in Teguise for a charitable purpose. After the publication of "Confined Shadows", a collection of short stories written during the confinement, the members of both clubs have donated the proceeds from its sale to the Cáritas Parroquial of Teguise, which, in turn, has converted the donation of 500 euros into wallet cards for the purchase of food as a social bonus.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, personally thanked the "collaboration of both reading groups, who always show and share their passion for literature, and also do so altruistically, actively participating with the Culture area of Teguise, and on this occasion, with noble and solidarity purposes such as this small contribution that will help to relieve the families of the municipality who need it".
The Councilor for Culture, Nori Machín, congratulated both reading groups "for the initiative, and for the helping hand that they all offer to the department, which this year will once again have exceptional narrators in the decision of the new edition of the Love and Heartbreak Letters Contest Los Novios de El Mojón", which will be held this Friday, April 23.
