The 'San Bartolomé Shopping' closes "with great success" this year's edition 2020

The City Council also presented the awards to the winning businesses in the X Christmas Window Dressing Contest

'San Bartolomé Shopping Weekend' celebrated its eleventh edition this year, which took place on December 11, 12 and 13. In a clear desire for constant renewal, the event was extended for the first time over an entire weekend, further enhancing the revitalization of the municipality's commercial fabric.

To achieve this, an extensive program of activities was devised that took place over these three days and ended with the reading of the photographic contest's decision. Workshops, concerts, children's activities, shows for the whole family, gastronomy at a good price, seasoned with great discounts in all the participating shops and establishments both in San Bartolomé and Playa Honda, meant that the neighborhood of the municipality and Lanzarote supported local commerce thanks to a few different days, according to the Council.

The mayor, Alexis Tejera, wanted to highlight that the San Bartolomé Shopping Weekend 2020 “highlights the local commercial fabric and helps it connect, even more so, with the population through an experience of closeness and cordial treatment with customers”. Tejera wanted to “thank the establishments for their participation once again in this campaign that has already been consolidated in the island's calendar”.

More than 50 businesses and 300 prizes

A total of 52 shops and restaurants have joined this eleventh edition of 'San Bartolomé Shopping'. During this weekend they opened their doors with great discounts and attractive promotions to attract the visit of the neighborhood. In addition, all purchases carried a prize. For purchases over 10 euros you could opt for more than 200 direct prizes with the Christmas Roulette, installed in the patio of the Bodeguita de la Casa Cerdeña. For those customers whose purchases exceeded 40 euros, a double ticket awaited them to see the Mecano tribute “Barco a Venus” on January 9.

In total, during the weekend three prize lots worth more than 2,000 euros, eight gift vouchers worth 1,000 euros and 300 direct prizes were distributed through the roulette. This money can be exchanged in the shops participating in the campaign. The prizes will be awarded on Tuesday, December 15.

The Councilor for Commerce, Alma María González, thanked all the participating establishments for their “great willingness to participate once again in this event that tries to promote their local activity thanks to a weekend of revitalization in the run-up to Christmas”. She also wanted to “congratulate all those who made it possible for their great work”.
