In the church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in the Villa de Teguise, a mass presided over by the parish priest Juan Antonio Artiles was celebrated this Wednesday afternoon, on the eve of the festivity of the patron saint of La Villa de Teguise. Some residents came to participate in the celebration.
Once the mass was over, and inside the temple facilities due to the inclement weather of the strong wind that lashed the area, the offering took place, in which some cultural groups from Teguise participated. The first to perform were the members of the Guanapay folk group, who offered the Virgin an isa, which was followed by a folía, to finish with a malagueña.
After them came the Third Age group, whose members also presented the Virgen del Carmen with several Canarian pieces. The final point of the offering was made by the family of the La Gran Aldea folk group, who had prepared an isa of figures, followed by some seguidillas and some folías as a final touch. The folk groups not only sang and danced to Nuestra Señora del Carmen, they also left some baskets with non-perishable products destined for Cáritas Parroquiales de Teguise next to her throne. The parish priest of the municipality, Juan Antonio Artiles, was very grateful at the end of the act for the offering to the Patron Saint of Teguise.
