The overhead medium voltage line of the town of Yaiza will be underground

The works to execute this project will begin on February 27, the day on which Endesa will temporarily cut off the energy supply between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The company e-distribución (Endesa) has confirmed to the Yaiza City Council "the temporary interruption of the energy supply, in a large part of the town of Yaiza and the entire coastal town of El Golfo, on Monday, February 27, between 08:00 and 15:30 hours, in order to carry out the technical work of disconnecting the overhead medium voltage line of the town of Yaiza", which will be underground from that same date, after the municipal project that allowed the relevant channeling to be carried out and that in the coming days will also allow the dismantling of the four towers located in the urban area of Yaiza that support the wiring.

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, reports that "Endesa has already carried out its technical tests and will now proceed to make the final change on the date and time period indicated. Both Endesa and the City Council are promptly communicating the power outage to residents, neighbors and merchants and the reasons, apologizing for any inconvenience this action may cause."

Thus, the City Council "helps to eliminate the last section of overhead medium voltage line in the town of Yaiza through the channeling works for the wiring", but also assumes "the cost involved in dismantling the towers whose works can be carried out after February 27".

"We are improving infrastructure and in this case we are also beautifying the town of Yaiza freeing it from the visual impact of cables and towers," notes the mayor, who once again values the inter-administrative collaborations with Endesa and with the Government of the Canary Islands, with whom Yaiza managed a subsidy to implement initiatives in the areas of socio-economic influence of the National Parks of the Canary Islands, investing 90,000 euros in the reference project.
