The young Canary Islander and swimmer of the Spanish Olympic team, Thaïs Henríquez, will collaborate in the promotional actions of Lanzarote as a destination for sports practice. The World Champion and silver medalist in Synchronized Swimming by teams in the last Olympics has recorded in the pool designed by César Manrique in Los Jameos del Agua a promotional spot of Lanzarote as an ideal place for training and sports practices.
Thaïs told the media that "she is in love with Lanzarote" and for her discovering the island during 2009 was a great experience. The beaches, especially those of Papagayo, provide her with relaxation and enjoyment.
The participation of the young Canary Olympic athlete in these new promotional actions of Tourism of Lanzarote is part of the new strategies promoted by the vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Minister of Tourism, Ástrid Pérez, where it is intended to strengthen the external image of the Island with the participation of prominent figures from culture, the arts, entertainment or sports.
These spots will be disseminated in several actions to be developed soon, including through social networks and the new website of TurismoLanzarote.com and CentrosTuristicos.Com that will share synergies. The filmmaker Pedro Almódavar, who shot the film Broken Embraces in Lanzarote, has also participated in these actions.
