The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, described the meeting as a "resounding success" and congratulated the new generations of his party for their ability to convene and for the excellent organization of the event, which became an opportunity for the teenagers of the municipality to exchange experiences and strengthen ties in a healthy, relaxed environment, and where cordiality and companionship reigned at all times.

"It is priceless to be able to enjoy a chop, some roasted potatoes and a green mojo in an incomparable setting such as the esplanade of Los Dolores and surrounded by such good company," said the mayor.

A formation increasingly close to the inhabitants

Machín also praised the work that the young people of CC have been developing for some time in the municipality of Tinajo, and that "fill the party with life" and make the nationalist formation increasingly close to the inhabitants of the town.

In this sense, he also encouraged the youth committees of CC from the rest of the municipalities of the Island, so that this type of meeting has continuity in other areas of the island's geography. "The young people from the rest of the municipalities should take the baton from the teenagers of Tinajo and organize meetings of the same nature," said Machín.

On the other hand, the mayor of Tinajo also highlighted the relevance that women are acquiring within the formation, because "a small group of women is being formed with great enthusiasm and desire to work, which shows that this town promises and has a future due to the great concern of its people," he concluded.

Known faces

At the meeting last Saturday, some well-known faces could be seen, some of them senior officials of the nationalist formation, such as its island president, Juan Santana, the second vice president of the Cabildo, Mario Pérez, or the Councilor for Sports of the Arrecife City Council, Luis Morales.

Despite this, the participation of public officials from the Canarian Coalition in the barbecue party was rather poor, a fact that the mayor of Tinajo justified in the coincidence with the festivals that other municipalities celebrate around this time.

"The representatives of San Bartolomé excused themselves because they are immersed in their festivities, the same as those of Haría, who called me to tell me that it was going to be impossible for them to attend, while I don't know what could have happened to the others because they were also invited," said Jesús Machín, while pointing out that it would have been his wish to have representatives from CC from all the municipalities of the Island.
