On Saturday, May 1, the III Tuning Show took place on the Guacimeta esplanade, from 12:00 to 22:00, as a complementary activity to the market, in which a total of 24 cars were exhibited, scalextrics tracks and mini-zetas tracks with live DJs, highlighting the special performance of DJ Ruimán González.
Attendees were able to see the interior of the cars (on display each of them), the exhibition of 600 motorcycles, enjoy the tire burning, the exhaust sound test or the exhibition of lights and, to conclude the day, the raffles and awards ceremony that were attended by the councilor of Playa Honda, Manuel Rodríguez and the councilor of Festivities, Áurea Mauri, accompanied by Moisés Sosa, organizer of the event, thanking the collaboration provided by the City Council.
Throughout the day, adults and children had the possibility to enjoy the scalextric track, mini-zetas and exhibition of remote-controlled helicopters, all enlivened with varied music, as well as visit the different stalls installed for the occasion.
During the day, numerous prizes were given to the most spectacular car, the best lighting, the best trunk, the best beginner, the best bodywork, the best tuning motorcycle, the best tire burning, the best exhaust sound and the prize for the largest rims.
The different shows had a good influx of public throughout the day, having more impact in the afternoon and evening and, especially, in the moments in which competitions and exhibitions were held.
Present at the event were Valse Bike, Fussion FM 91.5, Aseguradora Axa, Autoescuela Castillo, and a hot dog food stand, as well as bouncy castles in which the little ones enjoyed.
The surplus food was given to the NGO Cáritas at the end of the event. Moisés Sosa, added "his satisfaction for the success of this day", and told the attendees that from May 31 to June 5 there will be an exhibition inside the Deiland Shopping Center. In addition, he announced other performances in the coming dates: a Motor Week in Playa Honda, a Tuning Show in Arrecife and a tuning exhibition within the San Bartolomé festivities.
New edition of the market
Also, last Saturday, May 1, the town of Playa Honda had a new edition of the flea market, which offered all kinds of handicrafts and second-hand items between 10:00 and 14:00 hours.
The market had numerous stalls, highlighting the presence of artisans, sale of second-hand products, flowers, plants, paintings, jewelry, toys, clothing, products developed with aloe-vera, sand paintings, incense and candles, among others, which filled a good part of the avenue so that residents and attendees could do their shopping taking advantage of the Mother's Day holiday.
Visitors could also enjoy the folk performances of Tahod and El Golpito, the hip-hop group from Playa Honda, as well as the salsa workshop and the duo of singer-songwriters, who filled the avenue with music, color and atmosphere. This edition also featured an Ultimate Frisbee exhibition, in which Alberto Rodríguez Ferreiro was present, introducing this sport to the attendees. The little ones had mats located in the Princesa Ico area and in the Guacimeta esplanade.
In each new edition of the market, residents will be able to enjoy varied leisure, culture and sports proposals, incorporating new activities and performances in each day, according to the councilors responsible for the market, Manuel Rodríguez and Áurea Mauri, highlighted.
