The María Auxiliadora school in Montaña Blanca will open its doors next academic year

The Government of the Canary Islands received this Wednesday the work of the CEIP María Auxiliadora de Montaña Blanca. Thus, the students of this center, which was demolished in January 2013 to build a new one, will be able to give class in the new building in September, at the beginning of the new school year.

The work was received by the Autonomous Executive with the presence of the general director of Centers and Educational Infrastructure, Demetrio Suárez, the mayor of San Bartolomé, María Dolores Corujo, and councilors of the municipality, as well as the representative of the Adjudicating Company of the works, Pérez Moreno S.A., Fernando Calderín, and the director of the Center, Encarna de León.

"The boys and girls of Montaña Blanca, will begin the next course in the new facilities, thus complying with the demands of neighbors, students and the educational community", declared the mayor of San Bartolomé. 

The center's management and representatives of the Government of the Canary Islands and the City Council visited the facilities while the technicians carried out the latest checks. A total of 30 students will receive their training there next year.

The first stone of this work was laid on December 18, 2014. The work was tendered at the time by the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, with an execution budget by contract of 185,189.05 euros. The new center has a constructed area of 180 square meters and a patio of 54.37 square meters, in addition to two classrooms, dining room, warehouse, patio and administration area.
