All municipalities in Lanzarote have decreed the suspension of outdoor activities due to the arrival of the Claudia major storm on the island, expected from Thursday morning. Lanzarote and La Graciosa will be on alert from 06:00 AM for rain, flood risk, and wind gusts that can reach between 70 and 90 kilometers per hour.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote activated the Lanzarote Territorial Emergency Plan (PEIN) due to **risk of pluvial flooding and risk of adverse meteorological phenomena** from rain, winds, and storms starting at 00:00 hours this Thursday. There is a risk of "locally heavy and persistent" rainfall, storms with electrical discharges, and hail.

The city councils of Haría, Teguise, Tinajo, San Bartolomé, Arrecife, Tías, and Yaiza have proceeded to suspend all recreational, sports, and outdoor leisure activities, including extracurricular activities.

Furthermore, the red flag has been hoisted on all beaches in the Yaiza Town Hall, prohibiting swimming while the wind alert and coastal phenomena pre-alert remain in effect.

In the case of the Arrecife City Council, the Municipal Emergency Plan has also been activated since 7:00 AM this Wednesday until the meteorological risk has passed.

This is in addition to the resolution from the Ministry of Education, which has suspended in-person classes throughout the archipelago for this Thursday, November 13th

Institutions recommend that the public avoid outdoor activities, stay in protected areas, and follow the authorities' instructions.
