The Ermita San Antonio Art Gallery in Tías hosts the exhibition "The Memory of Cinema" by Francisco Rodríguez, known as Paco "El canario". The exhibition is part of the festivities in honor of the Virgen de La Candelaria and San Blas.
The exhibition collects material of great value and authentic jewels related to the world of cinema. In it, you can see from the machines to project meters and meters of old films, to the gigantic reels, some of them still full of films with which other generations enjoyed the cinema.
You can also enjoy the old billboards, as well as the small hand leaflets, books and filing cabinets, where mythical films such as "For a Few Dollars More", "El Padrecito", starring Mario Moreno "Cantinflas", among many others, are still preserved.
One of the pieces that attracts the most attention is the motorcycle with which Francisco Rodríguez traveled through the towns of the municipality to distribute the posters and leaflets of the cinema in order to inform the residents of the upcoming screenings. Through this exhibition, you can see how all these devices worked, which have become part of the cinema, as well as the films that were screened then in Tías by Francisco Rodríguez, a true lover of the seventh art.
