The 'Expo Ironman Lanzarote 2017' exhibition was inaugurated this Thursday morning on the Avenida de la Playas in Puerto del Carmen. This exhibition hosts, coinciding with the celebration of the 26th edition of this international triathlon this Saturday, the promotion of the main sporting events that are held throughout the year on the island under the brand 'European Sports Destination' of Turismo Lanzarote. With about twenty stands installed, it will remain open until Saturday in the section of the Avenida between Anzuelo Street and the Atlántico Shopping Center, where sponsoring and collaborating companies will also exhibit their products.
The presentation of the exhibition was attended by the councilors responsible for the areas of Sports and Tourism of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Patricia Pérez and Echedey Eugenio, respectively, together with the mayor of Tías, José Francisco Hernández, and the director of the event, Kenneth Gasque. Other public representatives and authorities also attended the event, including the councilors of Arrecife Samuel Martín and Jacobo Lemes, as well as the councilors of Tías, Nerea Santana and Francisco Javier Aparicio.
Patricia Pérez has encouraged tourists and residents alike to visit this exhibition and to follow the 'XXVI Ironman Lanzarote'. In addition, she recalled that, as a novelty, this year it will pass through the Charco de San Ginés, which she considers "a magnificent opportunity for the participants to receive the encouragement of the population of Arrecife". For his part, Echedey Eugenio considered "a success" the location of the exhibition on the Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen "because it will allow the thousands of tourists who visit it to learn about the main sporting events that are held in Lanzarote under the brand 'European Sports Destination'".
Organized jointly by Club La Santa and the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the 'XXVI Ironman Lanzarote' is sponsored by the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company Promotur; Turismo Lanzarote, through the 'European Sports Destination' seal; the City Council of Tías, and various private companies.
