The III Festival of the Native Peoples of the World, organized by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, brought the customs and traditions of 14 countries from five continents closer to those who came yesterday to the José María Cerdá park in Arrecife.
The President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted that "this Festival is consolidated as a meeting point to share knowledge, to learn and to make the situation of the different communities and our peoples more visible."
"The Festival of the Native Peoples of the World puts at the service of a society a change from the conviction that another world is possible, this being one of the sources of wealth that our island has: culture, education, participation and solidarity."
In the event, five continental representations exhibited the culture of their country, giving the attendees the opportunity to know and enjoy them. The communities have represented art, music, dance, crafts, gastronomy, testimonies and collective work for the entertainment of the attendees. The Festival was presented by Wassima Azzouz Zina, Daniel Vera Barrera and Juan Carlos Torres from Radio Nueva Moda.
