The first autumn rains arrive in Lanzarote

The island has received the month of December with a pre-alert for rain and storms that will conclude at noon this Friday

The first autumn rains have arrived in Lanzarote to welcome the month of December. This is reflected in the observation of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

In particular, during the night of this past Thursday, November 30, up to 0.8 liters per square meter were recorded in Tías from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The heaviest rains detected in this municipality took place during 8:00 a.m. this Friday when up to 1.2 millimeters were collected.

In the case of the Aemet station at the César Manrique Airport, 0.7 liters per square meter accumulated between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. this Friday. Although it did not rain more during the early morning, around 9:00 a.m. on this December 1, 0.4 millimeters were recorded.

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Haría, rains were recorded between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. this Thursday. In total, one millimeter per square meter was reached.

Forecast for the weekend

For this weekend, Aemet predicts little rain during the first half of the day this Saturday, with cloudy skies and temperatures between 16 and 21 degrees. In addition to winds that do not exceed an average of 25 kilometers per hour.
