Good music, partying, sports and, above all, family life, make up the cocktail of ingredients that make up, roughly speaking, the Festivities in honor of San Isidro Labrador, from Uga, which will begin next Friday, May 9, with the reading of the proclamation by the local artist Pedro Tavío, Tayó. This act will take place in the Teleclub of Uga.
On the other hand, and within the extensive program of activities of the Festivities organized by the southern town hall, the Department of Education, Culture and Festivities of the Yaiza City Council coordinated by Francisco Ramón, also highlights the celebration of the I Folk Festival Juan Pedro Camacho Tavío, which will be held on the same Friday, May 9, starting at 9:30 p.m., at the Fairgrounds, and which will feature the participation of the Rubicón Folk Group, the Janubio Gang, the Los Roncos Gang, the Guadarfía Folk Group and the Arbóneo Folk Group, from Tenerife.
The traditional Pilgrimage in honor of the Patron Saint of the peasants, will be held on Saturday, May 10, starting at 5:00 p.m., with the participation of pilgrims dressed in typical costumes and camels harnessed with the traditional chair. The departure will be from the end of Los Arenales street and the arrival will be located in the Fairground Tent.
Finally, the traditional religious Function in honor of San Isidro Labrador, will be held on May 15, starting at 7:00 p.m., and will feature the performance of the Yaiza Municipal Choir. At its conclusion, the Procession of the Saint will begin, which will be accompanied by the Yaiza Municipal Band.
The program of activities has been designed with the participation of the departments of Education, Culture and Festivities; Youth and Sports; Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, and the Minors team of the Department of Health and Social Services, under the coordination of the Festivities Commission of the southern City Council.
