The Cabildo de Lanzarote has hosted the celebration of a Plenary Session of the Security and Emergency Consortium, as well as a General Negotiation Table in which different issues of relevance to the entity have been addressed, among which the announcements of new job calls have stood out.

At the General Table, with the assistance of unions and representatives of the Consortium's management, several issues regarding personnel have been approved. Among them, the initial approval of the bases that will govern the calls for the provision through free competition-opposition of two firefighter positions, as well as the bases, in this case by internal promotion, of two corporal positions, stand out.

The bases, once sent to the Public Function of the Government of the Canary Islands to report on them, "will allow to start a new public employment call, with the aim of covering the positions of firefighters close to retirement and increasing the number of corporals in a staff that attends an average of more than a thousand services per year," says the president of the Consortium, Marcos Bergaz.

"I encourage all applicants, women and men, to prepare for calls that we hope can be initiated at the beginning of the year 2023, once the mandatory administrative procedures have been completed," Bergaz emphasizes.

Plenary agreements

Likewise, during the plenary session of the Consortium, with the favorable vote of all the representatives of the Cabildo, City Councils and Autonomous Community, the proposals presented to the tender for the improvement of the vehicle fleet were given the green light, having covered five lots of the contest.

"We are taking an important step in this historic tender of the Consortium, fortunately having, in complicated moments in the sector, offers for the most important lots of which we will give detailed account once the awards are formalized," says Bergaz.

"It must be remembered that once the proposal of the contracting table has been approved by the plenary, it is up to request the documentation from the proposed companies and formalize the respective contracts," says the Security Councilor.

In another order of things, it was proceeded in the same way to ratify the application to the public employees of the Consortium of the increase of 1.5% of the remunerations in application of the Royal Decree Law 18/2022.
