At 11 in the morning in the church of Ntra. Sra. de Guadalupe began the celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by the parish priest of Yaiza, Archpriest of Lanzarote and Military Chaplain, Sixto Álvarez assisted by the parish priest of Teguise, José Benito Gallego.
The three naves of the temple welcomed all those who wanted to participate in the religious act, after the Holy Mass, the civil guard, authorities and public moved to the Plaza de los Leones, today of the Constitution to continue with the scheduled events.
The tribune of authorities was presided over by the Insular Director of the General State Administration, Juan Prats Meleros, together with the Accidental Chief Lieutenant of the Civil Guard Company of Costa Teguise, Jesús González Gutierrez, the mayor of the Teguise town hall, Oswaldo Betancort and the Magistrate, Dean Judge of the Judicial District of Arrecife, Gloria Poyatos.
The Insular Director and the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard Company reviewed the entire formation present. Once finished, the chords of the national anthem were heard, which was greatly applauded by all those present. Another of the important moments was the ceremony of awarding decorations to several civil guards.
Once the ceremony was over, the authorities addressed all those present, without a doubt the most emotional moment was the tribute to the civil guards of all times who served and where many of them gave their lives.Next to the image of the Virgen del Pilar, a laurel wreath was placed at the same time that the song "Death is not the End" was sung and a response was prayed for all the deceased.
Later, the parade began, headed by a Squad of the Traffic Department composed of three motorcycles and a tourism in charge of Road Safety functions.Once the institutional act was over, all attendees were invited to a wine in the Santo Domingo convent.
