The Costa Teguise Civil Guard company held events this Saturday, October 12, to commemorate its Patron Saint, the Virgen del Pilar.
A religious mass was held in the Convent of Santo Domingo and later an Institutional act was held in the Plaza Camilo JosCela in the Villa de Teguise consisting of an imposition of 14 decorations to members of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise. These consisted of a plaque of the Royal and Military Order of San Hermenegildo, 3 Crosses of Military Merit with white badge, 3 Crosses with White badge to the Merit of the Civil Guard, 1 Gold Cross to Constancy in Service and 6 Bronze Crosses to Constancy in Service.
Of special relevance in this act was the recognition of the Civil Guard with the delivery of a national ensign by the City Council of Teguise commemorating the 100 years of the Civil Guard in Teguise 1923-2023.
The speeches of authorities were carried out by the Mayor of Teguise, the Head of the Costa Teguise Company and the Insular Director of the General State Administration gave way to the tribute to the fallen and the singing of the anthem of the Civil Guard corps ended the act
