Agents of the Local Police of Tías have proceeded this Wednesday, as a preventive measure, to fence and close the accesses to Playa Chica, in Puerto del Carmen, due to the intense storm that is hitting the Canary Archipelago. The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, following the instructions of the Security Protocol, has urged the raising of red flags on all the beaches of Puerto del Carmen.
And, despite the intense waves, the presence of bathers and tourists on the beaches and promenades was observed in the early hours of this morning, according to reports from the City Council.
The City Council has also decided to suspend during this Wednesday the cultural and sports events scheduled in the municipal public centers. Among them, the inauguration of the Emuná exhibition, by Jorge Isaac Medina, scheduled for tonight in the Art Room La Ermita de Tías, has been suspended.
For now, the Tías City Council is waiting for the evolution of this front to decide on the programming of activities for this Thursday and Friday. Initially, the solidarity gala in favor of the girl Claudia scheduled for Thursday night at the Municipal Theater of Tías remains.
