CEIP Capellanía del Yágabo hosted this Tuesday the closing of the project "Life in the Orchard", which the Association for Rural and Fisheries Development of Lanzarote has been developing for the last 6 months in different schools on the island. The event was attended by various institutional representatives and also a representation of 200 students, of the 841 who have participated in the initiative.
ADERLAN launched this project last November, subsidized by the Canarian Employment Service and financed by the European Social Fund and funds received from the State Public Employment Service. Since then, students from 18 schools on the island have participated in the initiative. At the closing ceremony, a sample of the products collected by these young people in the school gardens was exhibited, as well as the works of the participating students who showed their vision of the project.
Specifically, students from CEIP Capellanía del Yágabo, CEIP Titerroy, CEIP Mercedes Medina Díaz, CEIP Benito Méndez Tarajano and CEIP Argana Alta participated in the project in Arrecife. Children from CEIP Playa Honda and Ajey in San Bartolomé, CEIP Guiguán in Tinajo, CEIP La Garita in Haría, Alcalde Rafael Cedrés and Concepción Rodríguez Artiles schools in Tías, CEIP Dr. Alfonso Spínola, CEIP La Caleta de Famara, CEIP Los Valles, CEIP Tiagua, CEIP Soo, CEIP Nazaret and CEIP Guenia in the municipality of Teguise also participated.
