The Cabildo of Lanzarote continues to carry out the campaign to distribute masks to the different groups of the island's population to face the pandemic caused by COVID-19. Thus, the island's Councilor for Industry and Commerce, Ariagona González, and the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Francisco Javier Aparicio, have delivered an important batch of masks to the commercial sector of the island, specifically to the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises of Lanzarote, FELAPYME, as well as to other associations of merchants.
Councilor Ariagona González emphasizes that "there are many small and medium-sized companies that have remained open on our island during this health crisis and many others that will begin to open when the de-escalation of confinement begins, so it is vital that workers have access to masks to protect themselves against possible coronavirus infections".
"For the Island Government", adds González, "it is essential to collaborate with the business and commercial sector to provide employees with adequate protection material, thus guaranteeing their safety in the workplace".
These masks have been distributed through the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote. However, the island's Councilor for Security, Francisco Javier Aparicio, has stressed that "the Consortium will make available to all those small businesses and shops the masks they need to continue fighting against the pandemic that, without a doubt, we will overcome together".
