The Cabildo of Lanzarote has established a special bus service for the La Vegueta festivities, which will connect the town with Arrecife, for the early mornings of July 3 and 10.
“For safe parties, use public transport. That is what I recommend to the people of Lanzarote who want to enjoy the summer festivities in different parts of the island. And for this, we are enabling the lines that are necessary to cover, above all, the night routes,” the counselor clarifies.
On both days, the Transportation area authorizes the concessionaire company (Arrecife Bus S.L.) to operate Line 16 with departures at 4 hours from the La Vegueta Post Office Stop. The journey will have the following stops: the Tiagua Store, the Tao Booth, the Mozaga Post Office, the San Bartolomé intersection, Avenida de las Palmeras, Casa Ajei, Calle César Manrique, Argana Alta, Lanzarote General Hospital, Public Library and Arrecife Bus Station.
The service fee will be that corresponding to the application of the current traveler-kilometer rate for that line, as stated in the resolution signed this week. The transport company must provide a high-capacity passenger vehicle, thus guaranteeing safe mobility for attendees, also indicating from the Cabildo of Lanzarote that if necessary, another bus must be available.
Another of the conditions required by Transportation is that, due to the characteristics of the service, "the Tinajo City Council must have the presence of the Local Police at the departures in order to guarantee order in the event of any incident that may occur."
