The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) has once again awarded the Blue Flag to the town. This distinction, which Puerto Calero has been winning for ten consecutive years, recognizes the environmental work that the town is carrying out in its marine waters, for the care of the same and for the dissemination of the problems that are affecting them.
This award, which is given once a year, has ratified the validity of Puerto Calero continuing to hold the Blue Flag, since the evaluated criteria have remained positive. In the case of marinas, such as Puerto Calero, these evaluated criteria have been Environmental Education, environmental management, safety, service and water quality.
The award ceremony will take place on June 12 on Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, although the announcement of the award was made on May 31, through the General Directorate of Public Health.
