López Alegría has visited Lanzarote in the company of his family taking advantage of his stay in Fuerteventura, on the occasion of the Campus of Excellence that brings together these days bright young people with innovative and developable projects with the best international exponents of scientific, economic, business, political and cultural knowledge.
On this occasion, López Alegría wanted to see first-hand and show his children the wonderful landscapes of the Las Montañas de Fuego park. In addition, they were able to check the characteristics of this emblematic area of the island of volcanoes that remains hot in specific places such as the route within the park.
Biography
Miguel López Alegría, was born in Madrid on May 30, 1958 and is a veteran astronaut in three space shuttle missions. López Alegría has grown up in Mission Viejo, California and enrolled in the United States Navy graduating in Engineering in 1980. His first space mission with NASA was STS 73 in 1995, later, for several years he would lead the ISS crew Operations office before returning to space aboard STS-92 in 2000 and STS-113 in 2002. His last mission departed in September 2006 on Expedition XIV to the ISS.
