The Municipal Orchestra of Plucked String Instruments of Arrecife, directed by professor Juan Arrocha García, offered a concert on Tuesday at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture. The nine members that make up the orchestra played their guitars, bandurrias and lutes, performing a select selection of Christmas compositions such as Silent Night, White Christmas or Lo Divino. Some of them were intertwined with other classic pieces by composers such as Shostakovick, the famous Waltz, Jazz Suite No. 2 or Recuerdos de la Alhambra by F. Tarrega, etc. The audience was able to enjoy a concert taken care of with great care and knew how to appreciate it with their prolonged applause.

The mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Eva de Anta, and the Councilor for Culture, Jimena Álvarez, once the concert was over, congratulated the musicians and their director, Juan Arrocha, for the "selection chosen and its interpretive quality."

The School of Plucked String Instruments currently has 28 students who attend class once a week where they acquire the classes that then allow them to be part of the orchestra and thus be able to participate in the different concerts that are scheduled.
