Teguise will host some event with a reduced audience to celebrate the Carmen festivities

Singer Beni Ferrer will open the cultural program of the Timple House Museum, although with limited capacity

The Teguise City Council has presented a special program designed to celebrate the festival of Carmen, one of the most important in the municipality.

Given the impossibility of organizing mass events that do not comply with the regulations established on the island and in the archipelago, the Culture and Festivities area has prepared a small program that includes cultural initiatives that can be followed through the official networks of the City Council, specifically, from the Facebook Cultura Teguise, and also some face-to-face, although with limited capacity.

The councilor of the area, Nori Machín, wanted to thank “all the collaboration of the Church, cultural groups and neighbors in the configuration of a series of actions that will keep the spirit of Carmen alive.”

The program consists of several initiatives that will be carried out from July 14 to 18, such as online contests, book presentations, masses in the Villa and in La Graciosa in honor of Our Lady of Carmen, as well as live performances with the possibility of public, among which the one of the singer Beni Ferrer stands out, who will open the cultural program of the Timple House Museum, although with limited capacity. All this is available on the official website www.teguise.es

"Teguise is past, present and future"

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, wanted to send a greeting through the networks to wish his neighbors of Teguise and La Graciosa a happy day of Carmen, whose festivity he has stated will be recovered next year "with all the guarantees."

Betancort highlighted “the special circumstances of this sensitive moment in the personal, family and for many people, also in the labor and economic, but convinced that we will get out of this with our potential as individuals, and more importantly, with enormous potential as a group.”

“Many will share with me the pride of belonging to Teguise, a town with so much patrimonial, historical and cultural wealth, which has known how to evolve without losing its essence. Today life puts us to the test again as a group and before that, tell them that despite the sadness of many people who have lost their loved ones in these circumstances, it is our opportunity to demonstrate our strength again. For a Teguise with past, present and future, let's not stop taking care of our own or what is ours,” Betancort concluded.
