Teguise lights up Christmas with more than 200 figures illuminated with LED bulbs

The Teguise City Council has welcomed Christmas with the lighting of more than 200 Christmas motifs illuminated with LED bulbs that have been distributed throughout all the towns in the municipality.

The lighting, which runs from Tahíche to La Graciosa, is decorated with the most traditional icons of Christmas and the Nativity Scene, being visible both in rural areas and at the entrances to the main urban centers of the municipality. Likewise, the residential and commercial areas of Costa Teguise or the Historic Site of La Villa have a special assembly, in which decorative elements such as garlands or Christmas trees are added.

To illuminate the municipality on these special dates, Teguise states that it has once again opted "for responsible energy consumption based on low-consumption LED lights, an environmentally friendly technology that has recyclable materials in its composition."

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has stressed the importance of continuing to bet on LED as the lighting technology for Christmas figures. "In these special dates, we underline again our commitment to the environment, keeping our bet for low consumption lights", he stated.

For his part, the head of the Roads and Works area, Eugenio Robayna, pointed out that the lighting seeks to "promote the spirit of these dates, through the traditional figures of the Nativity Scene and other representative icons of Christmas, always respecting the environment, road safety and sustaining the commitment to energy saving."
