The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, collected this Friday morning in Tenerife the blue flags awarded to the municipality; an emblem that has been achieved for the first time by El Jablillo beach, while Las Cucharas has revalidated the one it already had. The European Federation of Environmental Education (FEE), which awards the Blue Flag awards, announced last May the Spanish beaches that will have this badge this year.
"In a few days, the beaches of Costa Teguise will once again display the blue flags that indicate that our coastline meets the environmental quality and user service criteria required," Betancort said at the flag presentation ceremony.
"We are very pleased to receive this new quality badge that we are adding to another beach in the municipality of Teguise, which is also one of the most frequented by residents and tourists, and we are committed to continuing on that path," added the mayor of the municipality. Likewise, Betancort has announced that they are going to work to "revalidate those that we have already obtained as well as to get new flags to shine in other parts of the coast, since that will imply improving the excellence of the destination, in addition to offering greater comfort to the residents".
The councilor responsible for Security and Beaches, Eugenio Robayna, has also celebrated this double distinction, assuring "that it represents a recognition of the effort, both of the City Council and of the tourism companies, to improve services and protection on our beaches".
