Teguise celebrates the procession of La Burrita

With this act, La Villa begins Holy Week

The Catholic community of the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Teguise began this Saturday the program of events for Holy Week.

The parish priest, Matías Gula, carried out the blessing of the olive branches and palms next to the church of Cristo de la Vera Cruz. Some palms that had been made in the workshop organized by the Federation of Folkloric and Cultural Associations of Teguise.

Once the branches and palms were blessed, the procession began with the image of the "Lord of the Little Donkey" until reaching the main church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Once inside, the Eucharist was celebrated with the readings of these dates belonging to "Palm Sunday" and the Holy Gospel with the narration of the "Passion of Jesus", according to the Evangelist Saint Luke, thus beginning the great week of the Catholic community.
