The Senior Animation Service of the Social Welfare area of Teguise celebrated the International Day of Older Persons on Thursday night, in which the elderly were the real protagonists. In an event that took place at 7:30 p.m. in the Convent of Santo Domingo, the elderly shared their stories and customs.
In addition, the City Council wanted to pay special tribute to one of the oldest residents of the municipality, Vicenta de León Guerra, 94 years old. The musical note of this event was provided by Alexis Lemes, who performed for all those present.
In addition, attendees were able to enjoy a snack. The City Council had arranged public transport to pick up those who had previously signed up at the Department of Social Welfare.
