The Department of Culture of the Teguise Town Council, coordinated by Olivia Duque, has announced the competition for the poster announcing the 2012 Carnival festivities.
This year, according to the councillor, the announcement of the competition has been brought forward, because the Town Council wants the winning image to be part of the promotional material that the Council will take to the World Travel Market, the tourism fair held in London in November. "With this change, we intend to take advantage of the Council's resources and homogenize and intensify the image of the Town Council abroad," said Olivia Duque.
Works may be submitted until October 28. The rules state that all artists residing in the Canary Islands over 18 years of age are entitled to participate. Each author may submit only one unpublished and original work. Posters must be sent to [informacion.cultura@teguise.es->informacion.cultura@teguise.es].
The winning poster must reflect the festive spirit of the municipality's festivities, with a marked advertising and promotional orientation.
The work will be the basis of the Teguise and Costa Teguise 2012 Carnival poster. The jury will award a single first prize of 450 euros.
