Tanausú Hernández, the young man with tetraplegia who fought for an elevator in his home in Arrecife, dies

The young man from Arrecife, Tanausú Hernández, popularly known as Tana, has died this Tuesday morning at the age of 35

This young man became tetraplegic in 2010 after diving headfirst on a beach in Costa Teguise and became known on the island for fighting to get an elevator for his home.

Hernández spent years barely able to go outside because he lived on the second floor of a house in Valterra. After a constant struggle, Hernández managed to have an elevator in his home and thus go outside. 

According to La Voz, Tanausú Hernández had been admitted to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote for pneumonia, but his clinical picture became complicated and he ended up dying.
