"Scientific territory", an offer for Lanzarote students on the occasion of Science Week

A walking tour will be carried out through the network of trails in the Volcanes Natural Park, to learn about the details of the landscape and highlight the environmental, historical and cultural heritage of the island

Timanfaya National Park

Baccalaureate and Training Cycle students from the island of Lanzarote will have the possibility of taking the “scientific territory” route, a route that takes place on foot through the network of trails of the Volcanes Natural Park and that will allow students to learn about the details of the landscape and highlight the environmental, historical and cultural heritage of the island. In addition, the volcanic activity of the Timanfaya eruptions and how this affects the changes experienced by the territory will be analyzed.

This proposal is part of a series of activities developed throughout the Canary archipelago and organized by the Canary Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (Aciisi) on the occasion of Science and Innovation Week, which returns after two years of pandemic.

The activities carried out, which include open days and visits to educational centers or scientific routes and guided tours, are free and are aimed at both Baccalaureate and Training Cycle students, as well as teachers and the general public.

Science and Innovation Week will also include virtual activities that will offer greater flexibility and eliminate geographical barriers between the islands. All online activities can be found at this link. The entire Science and Innovation Week can be found on the Aciisi website.
