Playa Honda celebrated the Day of Santa Elena this Wednesday afternoon, through a series of events that included a procession through the streets of the town.
Prior to the religious tour through the streets, the celebration of the Religious Function commemorating the Day of Santa Elena took place. Afterwards, in Santa Elena Square, they proceeded to the reading of two poems, by Ricardo Flores and Antonio Fernández Casanova.
Next, the procession took the image from the church of Playa Honda through the streets San Borondón, Fragata, Trancanil, Avenida de Playa Honda and Cordel, accompanied by the Municipal Music Band of San Bartolomé, which musically set the entire route.
The procession included the participation of several members of the Municipal Corporation, such as the mayor, Marcial Martín, the First Deputy Mayor, Tomás Acosta and the Second Deputy Mayor and Councilor of Playa Honda, Manuel Rodríguez, in addition to other councilors.
At the end of the procession, the neighbors shared a tasting of desserts and various gastronomic products contributed by each of those present, thus celebrating the day of Santa Elena, in the square in front of the church of Playa Honda.
