The airline Santa Bárbara Airlines plans to establish a new route this year, specifically around May, connecting Venezuela with the Canary Islands via Tenerife.

In this way, communications from the Archipelago, and therefore from Lanzarote, would improve for those who travel to the South American continent. With this measure, the company aims to provide an adequate response to its customers "since we have many Canarians but also more and more immigrants traveling between these points," said the company's president, Francisco González Yanes.

Of the airlines that connect Spain and Venezuela, Santa Bárbara Airlines has 42% of the market, having reached a turnover of more than 50 million dollars, which represents approximately 30% of the company's global turnover, and directly employing 50 workers in Spain.

It should be remembered that the company is the only Venezuelan company that flies to the Peninsula. In addition, in the Canary Islands it has 75% of the market and has experienced a growth of 30% in passenger volume in the last three years.

Other investments

This year the company will invest 6 million dollars in the modernization of the fleet that operates flights between Venezuela and Spain. This investment will mainly serve to acquire new aircraft and improve its infrastructure on the ground.

The company has acquired two Boeing 767s, a high-quality aircraft that is currently being used by the main companies in the world. It is a robust and safe model, with a wide cabin and two aisles, which is specially designed for medium and long routes.

The company, which has 870 employees worldwide, operates 10 internal routes in Venezuela connecting the main cities of the country and abroad maintains regular flights with the United States, Spain, Ecuador and the Caribbean island of Aruba.

One of the main characteristics of Santa Bárbara Airlines is its ability to offer competitive prices while maintaining its commitment to safety and quality in service.
