The mayor of San Bartolomé, Dolores Corujo, accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Carmen González, the councilor for Festivities, Áurea Mauri, and the designer of the poster and stage, César Corujo, have presented to the media the program of the San Bartolomé 2011 Patron Saint Festivities.
Dolores Corujo opened the press conference "thanking the participation and involvement of associations, groups and neighbors in the preparation of the San Bartolomé 2011 Festivities program." "The economic cutbacks and austerity have been important, but an attractive program of festivities is presented," the mayor highlighted.
Carmen González, for her part, encouraged the residents to participate in the San Bartolomé festivities, highlighting "that they will be austere, since these are complicated times, but in which the spirit of the residents will be present, which will make them enjoy these days of leisure and celebrations."

The proclaimer of this year's festivities will be Teresita Perera, "a well-known resident of the town, teacher and socially and culturally active woman." The proclamation will take place next Friday, August 12 and will feature the performance of the Municipal Choir and the subsequent inauguration of the exhibition of the X Historical Photography Contest "Portraits II".
Among the program of events planned for these festivities, the councilor has also highlighted the X Song Festival, which will be held on Saturday the 13th, and which will feature the participation of 11 singers and a couple, who have been selected after a casting.
On Sunday, Mauri explained, Canarian wrestling will be present, with a recognition from the Lanzarote Wrestling Federation to Felipe Martín, who is leaving his sports activity as a referee.
The councilor also highlighted the celebration of the X Folk Memorial Don José María Gil, with Ajey recognition of the folk work of Pedro Martín, a resident of the town and timplista, member of the Antigua Ajei and Los Gorfines. The day will conclude with the night of revelry.
On Saturday, August 20, the popular pilgrimage will be held, which will depart from the IES San Bartolomé, to continue along Antonio Cabrera Avenue, Rubicón and San Simón streets, and end in the church square, with a subsequent magician's dance. On Sunday, for its part, the act "San Bartolomé querido, the footprint of my town, an artistic vision of history" will take place, with the performance of the Municipal Choir.
From Monday, August 22, Mauri highlighted the II Ajei Fashion Show, in which collections from Zula Gola, Glóbalo, La Santa Surf, Boutique Elvira, Ana María Pérez, TImambe, Ana María Reyes, María Cao, Isidro Castellano, Rubén Pérez and Oswaldo Machín will be presented.
On Tuesday, August 23, it will be the turn of the parade of floats, while on the 24th the religious function and the procession will be held.

The complete program of events includes various activities for all audiences, both recreational, cultural, sports and festive.
The theater will be present as always, but there will be activities of all kinds, such as play back, children's gala, triangular football, petanque, bowling and card tournaments, veteran football, inflatables, giants and big heads, games and tournaments for young and old, toy library, dessert contest and gymkhana, orientation game, quemao tournament, hiking, verbena, film forum, senior citizens party, mountain bike race, horse race, foam party, band concert, verbena, nocturnal foam party with DJ, etc.
The festivities will also have food stalls and fairground attractions for the little ones, which will be installed around the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park.
