The mayor presented the festival program to the residents of the municipality, inviting participation and thanking associations and individuals for having a program suitable for all ages and for the enjoyment of any resident of the municipality.
The central events will take place between August 9 and 24, although some of the tournaments have already started with enormous participation, as highlighted by the Councilor for Festivities, with 24 teams presented to the 2x2 envite tournament and 50 to the ronda tournament, both of which started on August 5.
Conchy Álvarez, first deputy mayor, thanked the effort and work carried out by the Department of Festivities, and the support that all the Departments have provided, each contributing their grain of sand to the municipal festivities, venturing to consider that the festivities will be a success because they are the result of teamwork, a work carried out jointly with residents and associations.
Áurea Mauri, as Councilor for Festivities, was in charge of outlining the program of the festivities, highlighting as the most important events the opening speech by Marisol Arrocha, a resident closely linked to the theatrical movement, director of the Ajei Theatrical Group, with a subsequent performance by Mariví Cabo and the VII Edition of the Historical Photography Contest. The events will include all ages, so seniors will also enjoy a meeting and snack just and exclusively for them and this year there will be a day dedicated to young people that includes a cultural visit, various workshops, Wii contest, dj workshop, healthy cocktail workshop, beads, sexuality, climbing wall practice, scalectrix, BMW exhibition and concerts.

Another of the highlights will be the Popular Pilgrimage, with pilgrimage dances and the celebration of the Pilgrimage Photography Marathon, as well as the traditional parade of floats on the eve of San Bartolomé.
But, without a doubt, one of the most outstanding events is the presentation of "Honors and Distinctions of San Bartolomé", in which the Municipal Choir and the soprano Belén Elvira will perform. In this edition, the awards will go to Ramón Tejera Corujo (Ajei Award for Sports work), while the Mararía Social and Cultural Association for Women and the Tiemar Rural Association of Women will receive the Ajei Award for Social work in favor of gender equality.
