San Bartolomé began the big day of its festivities, this Tuesday, August 24, with the celebration of the Solemn Religious Function. The mayor of the municipality, Alexis Tejera, members of the corporation and civil and military authorities accompanied the residents during the religious act, which had musical accompaniment.
As every year, the religious function, which was officiated at 12:00 noon, had a large influx of residents, among whom was the town crier of the festivities. The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, and the vice-counselor of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, María Dolores Rodríguez, also attended the event.
Later, the San Bartolomé Band offered a concert, with a repertoire in which the themes 'Fiesta Tropicale', 'Variazzioni in Blue', 'Contrastó Grosso', 'Free Wold Fantasy' stood out, ending the evening, after the applause, with an encore of Bon Jovi. To conclude the program of events of this edition of the festivities, at 8:00 p.m., the performance of the play “The Legacy of Frankenstein” was scheduled at the Municipal Theater, by Teatreros y Comediantes.
San Bartolomé concludes the festivities "with great success of participation", with the mayor, Alexis Tejera, and the councilor of festivities, Isidro Pérez, thanking "all the people who have collaborated in the different organized events, the associations, clubs, groups, neighborhood, businesses..., that have been involved so that these parties were to the liking of everyone; as well as the municipal workers, security forces and civil protection for the great work done".
“With great enthusiasm from this City Council we close tonight the San Bartolomé 2021 patron saint festivities, thanks to the involvement and neighborhood participation, always keeping in mind the security measures that each of the events has needed. Thanking for this, even more, that the festivities close with great success”, they conclude from the Consistory.
