Raimundo Amador and The James Taylor Quartet confirm their presence at Costa de Músicas

The Costa de Músicas Festival will return next September to Costa Teguise and, for the moment, already has two important names on its program. Raimundo Amador and The James Taylor Quartet have confirmed their presence at this event, which is already in its third edition.

The James Taylor Quartet, the project led by organist, composer and arranger James Taylor, is one of the benchmarks of acid jazz, forming part of the select club made up of Incognito, The Brand New Heavies and Jamiroquai. He is the representative of the instrumental facet of the style, but offering an enormously personal music, influenced by jazz-funk, soul and, above all, by the soundtracks of spy films.

A guitar with history

The other artist confirmed for the third edition of the Costa de Músicas Festival, Raimundo Amador Fernández, was born in the humble neighborhood of the 3000 houses of Seville and it was his own father who taught him to play the guitar. With only 12 years old, Raimundo walked the streets playing in exchange for a sandwich or a few coins, but time led him to collaborate with artists such as Camarón de la Isla, Paco de Lucía and Kiko Veneno, with whom he even formed a group in 1997.

After the dissolution of "Veneno", and after another musical adventure, he began to delve into the fusion of flamenco and blues with his brother, with whom he founded the group "Pata Negra", to years later launch his solo career, releasing his first album in 1995 with the collaboration of Andrés Calamaro and B.B. King, among others. In fact, the relationship with the latter was maintained and Raimundo Amador accompanied B.B. King on his tour of Spain in 2004.
