For the third consecutive year, the Parranda Raíces organized the concert with their friends on the most magical night of the year in Arrecife.
This year there was a change of location, moving from the Plazuela to the José Ramírez Cerdá park next to the music kiosk. The event began at 8:30 p.m. with a heartfelt tribute to the recently deceased Juan Quintero, a unique folklorist in his genre. Oliver Martín was in charge of performing an isa, a characteristic piece that Juan Quintero always championed. At the end of it, some relatives of the honoree went on stage and received a gift from the Parranda Raíces.
The concert continued, giving way to a young member of the Los Encontrados parranda who performed a Christmas carol, later the Pentawoman group performed, made up of five women, who masterfully performed the famous song by Nino Bravo, Un beso y una Flor (A Kiss and a Flower).
Immediately afterwards, the singer Araceli Bravo took the stage and performed a song fused with Canarian overtones, giving way to the numerous and newly created group made up of some twenty-five women "Calicanto" who performed the song by Antonio Flores, "No dudaría" (I Wouldn't Hesitate), which the numerous public accompanied in the choruses.
Once finished, about thirty boys and girls belonging to different music schools took the stage, who were also accompanied by the Calicanto group and as a finishing touch they performed the Christmas carol song by the Canarian composer Juan Carlos Sierra dedicated to all those affected by Alzheimer's entitled "Por una Navidad que no Olviden" (For a Christmas They Don't Forget).
Thus came the end of the concert with the Raícesparranda with a varied and lively medley of rumbas bringing an end to this third edition.
