The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has established a yellow warning for wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour in Lanzarote. As a result of this information, the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has issued a pre-alert for wind.

The warning, which was issued this Thursday, will be valid until the afternoon of this Friday, coinciding with the passage of the Atlantic storm Karlotta, which is scheduled to arrive in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands from this Thursday.

The probability of this phenomenon occurring is between 40 and 70%, according to Aemet. In addition, very strong gusts from the west are expected, mainly affecting the northeast slopes, from Haría to Arrecife, without ruling out their presence in the interior of Lanzarote.

In addition, Aemet has also forecast moderate rainfall between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Saturday in the northern part of the island and in La Graciosa. While in the rest of the island, there may be light rainfall.
