The Playa Honda festivities are about to begin, which will take place from September 16 to 25 respectively. As in each edition, there will be events for all audiences and in different public spaces that include the beach, the Guacimeta esplanade, the avenue at different heights, the open commercial area of Playa Honda, Calle Mayor, etc.
The open commercial area of Playa Honda will have dynamization and a concert by Jimmy's Joplin, thus beginning the festivities this Friday, and on Saturday Inerxia will perform in Calle Guanarame, which will also have inflatables for the little ones in the house, while the Tapas Day will be held in different establishments in the town. In addition, on the 22nd, the theatrical performance of "The Legend of Isla Quemada" will take place in the church area, by the Teatral Losotroh company, in collaboration with the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
One of the highlights of the celebrations will be Hondarock, a musical event that is already an unconditional part of these festivities and that this year will bring Emisora Clandestina, Los Embajadores and Los Verbenas. It will be on Saturday, September 17, starting at 10:00 p.m. on the Explanada de Guacimeta.
Culmination with the Festival of Colors and the fireworks
Important events will take place, in which music in all its varieties, from the Municipal Band, to rock, through groups that cover or DJs, and sports have an important presence. In addition to the horse race and wind festival, which are also classics of these festivities. The paella contest, for which you must register in advance at the festival office, by calling 928 522 352 until Friday, September 16, is also an attraction, because families and groups of friends from the town participate.
Soccer, zumba, the swimming crossing that has great roots, are other events. In this edition, the I Cycling Criterium will also be held, together with card tournaments, children's activities, traditional games, family workshop, family gymkhana, sports dances, concert by the municipal band, Dj Night with concerts by Sentimiento con arte, Jake (La Voz), Esther Betancort, Dj Ale Osorio, Filósofo Fr and Carlos Chavaud.
As a culmination, the Festival of Colors will take place, which has a great musical agenda and will be held on the 24th also on the Guacimeta esplanade, the expected horse race, in addition to the Wind Festival, with workshops, and concerts by the groups Maldito Duende, Mejor con copas and Overbooking, foam party and tapas at popular prices in the stalls.
On the other hand, the campaign "A light for your health, Playa Honda with Eidher," will feature a lantern workshop. The fireworks display on Playa de Guacimeta will close the festivities on September 25.
