Playa Honda is immersed in the celebration of its festivities, which kicked off on the weekend with Aquahonda 2013 and continued with the inauguration of the Exhibition IV Encounter with Africa at the Playa Honda Senior Center, which will remain open to the public until September 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
DJ music, chill out, was also present, with a performance by the singer "El Vega", who presented his musical work published on the album Only Locals to the public, on Avenida de Playa Honda, in the Marilyn area.
On Sunday, a zumba masterclass by Seneida Pérez took place on the Guacimeta Esplanade, for all ages, followed by a paella contest in which a total of 9 paellas were cooked by groups and families. The first prize went to the paella made by the Playa Honda Senior Citizens Association, and the second prize went to the Peruvian Group.
The day continued with the kite festival, which took place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with kite construction, decoration and flying workshops, and the installation of several groups of multi-colored flags, continuously rotating turbines and recycled bottles that rotate endlessly, all anchored in the sand.
Attendees also enjoyed the falconry display and a kite sales point where they could purchase a copy. This activity was carried out with the collaboration of Aena.
At 7:00 p.m. there was a musical performance by "Corazón Latino", on the Guacimeta Esplanade, to close the day.
On Monday evening, sports took on special prominence within the festivities with zumba by Seneida Pérez Torres on the beach of Guacimeta, Playa Honda, also starting the Triangular Football Tournament, organized by Inter de Playa Honda in the Cadet Category with the teams Playa Honda-Unión Sur Yaiza, on the Playa Honda football field. The night concluded with the first of the rounds of the mixed round tournament.
