He arrives with force to the island, after having already triumphed with his summer tour, "Volvemos a empezar" (We start again), in different scenarios of the national territory, as well as in Mexico. Melendi will arrive in Arrecife, on El Reducto beach, this Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. and promises "a lot of energy and fun" in one of the most anticipated concerts by the people of Arrecife.
The Asturian singer knows that the public is waiting for him and does not plan to disappoint them. He likes to perform in front of a lot of people and is aware that "playing on a beach is a real privilege." Therefore, in these San Ginés festivities, citizens will enjoy the best Melendi, who will offer a concert in which he will review both his new album and his many hits. In this way, he will leave nothing in the inkwell.
And the success of this Spanish artist is unquestionable. Since in February 2003 he managed to record his first solo album, "Sin noticias de Holanda" (No news from Holland), Melendi has forcefully entered the Spanish music scene. Months later, he released two new songs, "Asturias" and "Moratalá", which were very well received by the public. However, his rise to fame was provided by the Vuelta Ciclista a España (Tour of Spain), in 2004. His song "Con la luna llena" (With the full moon) was chosen as the official theme of this competition, sneaking into the home of all Spanish fans of this sport. Shortly after, a small tour led him to sell more than 50,000 copies, thus obtaining a gold record.
In 2005, his second album arrived "Que el cielo espere sentao" (Let heaven wait seated), which sold more than 200,000 copies and won the Ondas award for his song "Caminando por la vida" (Walking through life). In 2006, the singer positioned "Mientras no cueste trabajo" (As long as it doesn't cost work) among one of the best albums of the year in Spain, while in 2008 he managed to publish his album "Curiosa la cara de tu padre" (Curious the face of your father).
Starting from scratch
Thus, after more than eight years battling on multiple stages, with very catchy rumba rhythms, the Asturian has decided to give his music a change. Now, with "Volvemos a empezar" (We start again), Melendi has undergone both a physical and musical transformation. His rumba sounds have given way to more rock rhythms and his mythical dreadlocks have disappeared.
Parenthood seems to have led the singer to evolve and explore new musical fields, without abandoning anything from the past either. And it is that this evolution has not been imposed, but natural, a "volvamos a empezar" (we start again), a game that starts from scratch. Hence, on the cover of his latest album he appeared naked, in the purest Adam and Eve style, in his particular Eden and with his fig leaf.
Melendi has managed to reach all audiences and has managed to get both young and old people on their feet, who will also dance to the rhythm of his songs in Arrecife. The Asturian knows how to connect with the public and how to get all attendees to hum his songs. "Caminando por la vida" (Walking through life), "Con la luna llena" (With the full moon), "Novia a la fuga" (Runaway bride), "Quisiera yo saber" (I would like to know), "Calle la Pantomima" (Street the Pantomime) or "Canción de amor caducada" (Expired love song) are just some of the songs that will bring a smile to the people of Arrecife who enjoy his concert.
Many dreams to fulfill
After so many years in the world of music and having triumphed on so many stages, Melendi still has many dreams to fulfill. One of them is America, where in four days he managed to sell all the tickets for his concert in Mexico. Therefore, the Asturian singer will try to continue making a career on the other side of the pond, given the spectacular success obtained.
Engaged in a tour that will take him throughout the national scene, Melendi will practically not have time to get to know the island of Lanzarote. However, he promises to make all the people of Lanzarote vibrate who come to El Reducto this Wednesday at 9:0 p.m.
