Maritime Rescue has rescued two more boats near the coasts of Lanzarote at dawn, as reported by the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium.
The first boat was intercepted at about 3 in the morning. According to the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security, a total of 55 people were traveling in the first boat, 39 men, 7 women, two of them pregnant, 3 minors and 6 babies, all of sub-Saharan origin. In addition, they report that five people have been transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital for various pathologies, all of them mild.
The second boat was rescued at about 06:30 hours and 35 migrants were traveling in it, all of Maghreb origin. In this case, no transfers to the hospital have been made.
With these two boats, there are already six boats that have reached the coasts of Lanzarote this week, after the one that was rescued in the early morning of Tuesday with 65 people on board and the three boats rescued this Wednesday, with 170 people.
In addition, last weekend another two boats reached Lanzarote, and both were rescued by Maritime Rescue. On Saturday night a boat with 58 immigrants on board was rescued, while on Sunday a pneumatic boat with 56 people inside was rescued. In total, since last Saturday a total of 439 people have arrived in Lanzarote by boat.
