In the early hours of this Tuesday, Maritime Rescue has intercepted a boat with 52 people on board, according to reports from the Emergency Consortium. The location was in territorial waters miles north of Punta Prieta in the north of the island.
There were 52 people on board the boat, 49 men and three women, all of Maghrebi origin. The Guardamar Polimnia was responsible for transferring them to the Commercial pier where they were attended by the Red Cross.
Two of the migrants have been evacuated to the Molina Orosa hospital for different pathologies.
