The mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, on behalf of the entire Municipal Corporation, has conveyed his condolences to family and friends of Marco Marchioni, scientific advisor of the Intercultural Community Intervention Project of San Bartolomé, who passed away this Monday. Tejera has extended his condolences to the various multidisciplinary teams with whom Marchioni has worked throughout his 30 years of advising.
The first mayor of San Bartolomé has highlighted "the staunch defense of community social development linked to citizen participation, as a working premise of this tireless researcher and vocational social worker, above all else."
Alexis Tejera has shown his recognition and gratitude "for his advice to the Community Intervention Project of San Bartolomé, for his special look at our territory, San Bartolomé being the first ICI territory in the Canary Islands, and for his previous work, in the roots of the current process, the El Patio Project."
"Marchioni has had a very relevant role advising our project with and from closeness, which allowed great progress and as a result of this and the collective work, there are awards such as 'Island and Municipality Promoting Health' for the San Bartolomé Health Week", the mayor pointed out.
"Today we say goodbye to the tireless, optimistic worker, who leaves us a legacy ahead and many goals still to be built together. Our condolences to social workers and staff of the various teams with whom he has worked throughout his extensive and intense career", concluded Tejera.
